This version of VVA is adaptable to almost any engine. It offers continuously variable valve lift from zero up to 12 mm (the plot depicts only a few of the infinite curves) and effective control of the actual overlap. Although it involves only roller bearings (i.e. no sliding friction) its inertia loads are less than those in the conventional mechanism.
