Some advantages: easy of use, comfortable, lightweight, compact when packed, cheap.

An aluminum tubular prototype having strips of fabric from a plastic woven sack, weighs 1.5Kg in total (3.3 Lbs), can bear safely an 85Kg heavy (185 Lbs) 1.85m tall (6' tall) person, can be unfolded and fully assembled in less than 30 seconds, can be packed in less than 30 seconds, when packed its dimensions are 0.56m * 0,23m * 0.1m (22" x 9" x 4").

Three subassemblies: central part or stool (1), backrest-headrest (2) and legrest (3):


With a zipper around the backrest-headrest (2), and two straps:

the P@Cot becomes a self-contained backpack wherein inside the sack formed by the folded backrest-headrest (2) they are stored the folded stool (1) and the folded legrest (3), with plenty of empty space left inside for carrying water, food, cloths etc.


With the (21, 22) beams/rods of the backrest/headrest (2) slightly bent, additional settings result:



With rubber cord(s) (101, 102, 103, 104) connecting the upper beams (11, 12) with the lower beams (13, 14), the assembly is as automatic as in folding canes:



For indoor and outdoor use; for instance: on a ship deck to sleep all night comfortably, at hiking to rest or sleep, at a seashore sunbathing, at distant areas, in camps, inside a house when the available beds are fewer than the guests, even on rocky mountains:
